My name is Cattalina Valdés, I was born on April 24, 1999 and I am 20 years old. I have lived all my life in the commune of Cerrillos in the Metropolitan Region. In my house lives my mother and my dog "guatona" with which I spend most of the time, is like a sister to me, and although it is large passes inside the house and even sleeps with me, which is sometimes very annoying because it is heavy!  I am also a scout since I am 11 years old, now I am a guide for girls between 11 and 15 years old which makes me very happy, because I can educate and teach them our lifestyle, connect with nature and be better people.

 My favorite writer is John Ronald Reuel Tolkien or better known as JRR Tolkien, was born on January 3, 1892 in Africa and died on November 29, 1971 at the age of 82. He was a writer, poet, linguist, teacher and even a member of the British army in the First World War. He is also known for belonging to a literary group called Inklings along with C.S Lewis. His writing is mainly fantasy and therefore my favorite book is "El Silmarillon", which is a collection of works edited by his son Christopher Tolkien, tell the story of how the universe of Middle Earth is created, from the creation of the gods, the cities, where they develop the other famous texts that this author has, such as "El hobbit" and "El señor de los anillos". I like this author mainly because I am amazed at the fantastic world that I manage to create, full of details, where he shows culture, war, characters, even language, and that also has a continuation in the stories. 

During the semesters that I have been studying, I became the number one fan of the pages of the ministries, since always in some branch I have to investigate about some or believe that I belong to some, what I like most about these pages is that whenever I review some of the first image they have, is one of the ministry linked to the people to whom it is directed or its main function, for example the ministry of education always has children or teachers, the ministry of health, grandparents or pregnant women. These pages have always helped me to get information, they are the first ones I review when I have to investigate some public service or public policy, but what I don't like, is that the information they have is summarized or even just a score, so they only serve me to know in a general way and if I want to know in detail I have to look in other pages. Personally I think that the public service needs to improve their websites a lot, so that they are easier for people to ...

One of the subjects that I liked the most this semester was Research Methodology, although a subject that is usually boring, I liked very much to be able to research on a subject that I like and to know more deeply about the problem and above all to do it while learning skills for the development of my career, such as writing well, looking for information. This year with my work group we decided to investigate Alzheimer's disease and the public policies that the disease has in Chile, I discovered how difficult it is to suffer the disease, the treatments and that it is one of the major causes of death in our country, because the disease has no cure and the treatment all it does is to help lead a better life. From the pedagogical side, I learned how to better carry out a research project, create a theoretical framework, define concepts, search for theories about my hypothesis and much more. Since I was little I have never liked meat, its flavor, texture, color, everything about it I dislike, for a while I thought about telling my parents that I was vegetarian so I would not have to eat meat, so as I am crafty my favorite dish is the tomatican with fries.  When my parents prepared it I was the happiest person in the universe, also because I love French fries, although this typical Chilean dish does have meat in it, they never put it in my house and sometimes I think we only use its name as an excuse to make a combination of seasonal vegetables plus tomato as the main ingredient.  Among the historical data I found about my favorite dish I can highlight that its traditional recipe is based on a mixture between native products such as Spanish, I think it's fantastic that a recipe so old is still eating at home and is also so popular.  I hope one day to be able to taste it with meat and to know if it is still as good as at home, although it still disgusts ...

My experience with writing the blogs for the English course, was a combination of positive and negative things, first I liked to read the blogs of my classmates, I laughed at them, and enjoyed each of their stories, then came the most difficult thing, having to write mine, it took me a long time to think about what to put, then I wrote it and had to translate it, I hope I was not the only one but it cost me a lot, I had never had to write so much in another language, the good thing is that it helped me to know more vocabulary. Although the most negative aspect that I had writing the blogs is that I am bad at doing individual tasks in the house!, I always forget them, I have to write them down everywhere or ask my friends to remember them, so several times I happen to remember late what I had to do and I had to think fast. But in spite of everything I am grateful to have been able to be evaluated this way because it is a creative way to learn, thank you Teacher!
